Happy belated 420! I would have dropped this post yesterday, but in true 420 burn out fashion….I dropped the ball!
So in case any of you were or are in Whistler for the Telus Grenade Games ( under “Snowboard Activties” on the Telus Fest website it lists “Grenade Games”), I, we, are in fact still in Reno. We stayed and hit KingVale yesterday to bask in all their 420 celebrations. We showed up with a bag full of happy brownies and the full intentions of filming a segment for you guys, but again in true burn out tendency, we gave the brownies away, and spent the day shralping, drinking, and enjoying all things good about 420. I did however manage to take some pictures. So enjoy those.
We are heading back to the great North land sometime this week after a few more days of filming and wrapping up some loose ends here. We will be making a brief stop in Van, then it will be off to Banff to get some spring pow, and hopefully hand rails…somewhere.
So that’s about it for news. Except that PBRJ finals at Mammoth are gzoin down on Saturday. I may or may not be there. But if YOU are in the area, you should go.

It’s April 7th 2009. 4pm Reno time. Convert that to your time. My time is far different however as it is going on hour 35 without sleep. Did i mention i am still in the process of finishing an advance journalism work shop? Well i am, so have a little sympathy for the Khattar (Kater if you didn’t know). ANyway i have to finish the course work for…tomorrow. So yeah, i’ve written about 6000 words in the last 12 hours or so, with about 4 thousand more worth of journal entry to go. Anyway so it has been something of a grind lately, what with the everyday filming, and sleepless nights of reading and writing, squeezing out an edit when i can.

Hey Team!
How is everyone?
Just been filming a ton here in Northern Cali. Lots of days spent hitting hand rails, house jibs, and tree runs in chest deep at Northstar.
Just finished gobbling up a bunch of eed cookies our rom made. Wow the dogs are wasted i tell ya. Off to Sentury’s marketing guy (Alex DeRoulette)’s birthday party. Lots of cowboy boots. Hikin some back country tomorrow at ASI (hike zone off Donner Lake). Going to a Kings vs Suns game this Sunday in Sacramento. So stoked. Then Mammoth, June, Mt High and Big bear next week. Probably lots of hand rails and back country for the next few weeks.

Yee Haw! It’s day..um.. I don’t rightfully know. Anyway. We are still in Reno. The other Canucks have since sailed on back to the homeland. Me and Magee remain. Two Canucks Living the American Dream. We have been on detox and rehab since the others left. Ben has been working and is currently in Huntington surfing. We may or may not join him in SoCal this weekend. Anyway, days are hot and long this week, so filming and shralping is on the agenda. We are gonna go in search of some abandoned fun on the Donner Pass Road tomorrow. Billabong Ante Up

If it wasn’t for the champagne and free drinks I would be ultimately confused why I went through all the hellish trouble of coming to the Billabong Ante Up this weekend past.

Day 6: Seymour

The weather in Vancouver is a bit different than usual. Instead of cold weather and pow, this last week we have been riding spring snow and warm temperature. Day 4, we checked out Cypress, the home of the 2010 Olympic pipe (which was not cut). Conditions were pretty east coast. Day 5, we checked out Grouse. The Quicksilver park had some good steep down rails and two large jumps. We rode in the evening and the temperature was 9 degrees!
Day 6: We are getting tired and only ate one egg each! Today we rode at Seymour. The park was in top shape; it had lots of different jibs. The condition were very spring; slushy snow and 12 degrees. On our last run we ran into Khattar and did a few runs.
