June 18 - How Long can This Last
Yup this site looks pretty dead. No real signs of life other than "Jibtub" antics on the Cbox. Where is that Banff footy? This posting comes with a new clip, nothing special other than a mellow session in Corms backyard from way back in January. This might be the last post for 2007/2008. Enjoy the sun and beaches, I might just go to for a glacier shred. <Ben>

Apr 13 - TSSWF
What does TSSWF mean? It’s actually that Telus festival thing that happens every year, early April, in Whistler. According to a few sources if you have to be in Whistler only once, it has to be during the Telus week. It’s basically a snowboarding spring break. 20 000 people are on the hill, patios are happening and it’s warm and sunny. It can’t get any better than that. Granted the spring conditions and the amount of people, park laps on those perfect Whistler Blackcomb features are the runs of choice. I even met up with some New Brunswickers for a few laps around Blackcomb. Saturday night was the big air contest. The format of the final was interesting. Each rider had to do one 540, 720 and 900 to be judged on style and then a trick of their choice. Seb Toutant won with smooth spins and double cork 1080. <Ben>

Mar 06 - Khattar in Kali UNCUT
Make sure you have adobe acrobat reader or adobe acrobat pro (if you're an uber geek) and click HERE to enjoy Ben's pseudo mag layout of Khattar and company's trip through California. Reader discretion is advised. And I found it easier to read once I printed it...but if you're cheap and don't light your cigars with 100 dollar bills then hit the magnify button and have fun side scrolling...damn you Ben and your very sharp eyesight. Sea-corms out. <Corms>

Mar 03 - We're fucking slackers, I know
So yah, sorry for the lack of posts...Khattar in Kali was going great...but then I decided to head to Cuba. My humidor was getting empty and I was tired of pushing carts at the Wal-mart, sorry. Anyways, Ben is currently putting all the Khattar in Kali updates into a neat little magazine type dealie, with photos and shit. Look for the that probably around Thursday or Friday. (He doesn't actually own a computer so be patient) I haven't read any of the updates...but Ben said there is like 8000 words, so should be mighty entertaining! Also, there is a comp at Poley Mountain this Saturday, click THIS. Should be a good time...don't remember the last time Poley hosted a comp. They have a great bar too....it's too bad. Anyways, shout-out to our friends in the Great North! And see you Saturday! <Senor Corms>

Feb 19 - Khattar in Kali Day 2
Video preview of day 2 here. Day 2 summary here.

Feb 18 - Khattar in Kali
So Khattar, aka Jibtub, has somehow found his way down to L.A. How? I'm not sure. Why now? (considering his Spring break is next week) I'm not sure. All I can tell you is with Khattar I've learned to expect the unexpected and not ask questions...because usually the answer is beyond my simple reasoning. Anyways, in the next week or two, Jibtub will be living the dream in Cali, shredding local hot spots we wish we crew up in, spitting on Chris Bradshaw, possibly comparing tight pants with Johnny Miller and most importantly, sending us periodic updates of his shenanigans. So <CLICK HERE> for the 1st issue of 'Khattar in Kali'. Enjoy. <Corms>

Jan 31 - 3 Spots
Last post of January 08...oh how the time flies when you're retired and watching the A-Team reruns all day. So the Urban Butter Showcase just over 2 weeks ago in Halifax was totally bodacious. Thank you organizers and sponsors, and come back next year! This Saturday @ Martock is the first stop of the 'You Look Good Rider's Cup Series. Check out www.youlookgood.ca for info, videos and results from last year, and a blog documenting the organizers progress. There hasn't been a national series of this magnitude come to the Maritimes as long as I can remember...hope the weather doesn't go to shit! Finally, I added a clip to the vid section. First person to guess all 3 spots in order on the CBox wins a massive limited edition NN di-cut sticker, which I'll mail to you...provided you live in North America. Anyways, goodluck and adios! <Corms>

Jan 12 - More Traditions
Pre-season riding at Val D'Irène, Québec. This is another tradition that has been going on for a couple of years. We usually go early December and shred before the hill opens for the season. In the last, say 4 years, knee deep powder has been the norm. There is a little edit of the session in Val D'Irène in the vid section.<Ben>

Jan 08 - Please don't go snow...
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years! In Moncton we recieved the gift of 60cm of snow in approx 3 days...but now it's melting away...damn Maritime weather. Anyways, the NN crew shredded some freshies down in Sunday River for a few days just before the new year...we had a super fun time...except Lukas got carpal tunnel syndrome...but that's another story. We'll throw what little footage we have of the trip together into a clip shortly. We also took some stills on Xmas day from a little backyard sesh, which can be seen in the pictures section, kind of a Christmas day tradition for us. To more recent events, there is a big comp in DOWNTOWN Hali (Granville Square) this weekend. It's called The Urban Butter Showcase, HERE is the website and HERE is a photo of the setup. It's another invite only comp, justifiably so, due to the burliness of the setup. Registration is done through the website. As Khattar (aka Jibtub) mentioned on the Cbox, there is also a pre-party at the Pacifico on Friday night to go along with the mandatory afterparty on Saturday @ Peddlers. Check the website for details...or just show up to watch and sit in the beer garden and drink diet Sprite. If you're competing and have already recieved an invitation, make sure you bring your Texas Instrument TI-92 scientific calculator...and set it to Radian or possibly Gradian...the judges will let you know...pretty sure that's the only way you're gonna be able to figure out if you placed or moved on to the next round. Benoit will not be available for mathematical assistance...so make sure those batteries are charged! Boy do I miss good ol' fashion comp formats... Anyways, what was just said? 1)New photos in the pictures section. 2)New misc clip coming soon. 3)Crazy city jib comp this Saturday in Halifax. 4)TI-92 not TI-85 (you need to be able to integrate). See you on the weekend...I'll be the one with the limp self-treating with potent anti-inflammatory agents. <Corms>

Dec 11 - Two Clips
Just added two clips to the video section under random edits wayyy at the bottom. The first one is a bunch of left over shots from the HSRJ edit and the second clip is from Sam's backyard...shot last weekend. His backyard is still the best one I've seen. I'm pretty stoked on winter up to now, and I think we might be getting more snow soon...maybe more clips? <Ben>

Dec 09 - Hi.
Here's the video (long version) from the Hot Shots Rail Jam if you haven't already seen it on 33mag.com or SBC. VIDEO HERE For an excellent summation of the day's events, I highly recommend you check out Khattar's article @ snowboardcanada.com....I'm proud of you Jibtub! Congrats goes to Jon Gauvin for taking home the cheese, Mario LeBlanc for 2nd and Gabe Fisher for 3rd. And thanks to Derek from Boardertech and all the sponsors for throwing such a rad event! Ben also informed me that he's slapping together some 'B' footage from the the jam along with some miscellaneous backyard footage into a little clip of sorts... so watch for that in the next couple of days. In other news, Elusive Skate/Snowboard shop threw an opening day rail jam @ Crabbe in Freddy yesterday. I've been told it was "an ass load of fun", and that young Sam Girouard of Dieppe was the winner. For further details on the comp results and possibly some media, check out Elusive's blog HERE. Elusive has a blog??! They sure do! Joel knows how to use a computer?!? He sure does! Anyways, see you @ Martock on Saturday! <Corms>

Nov 02 - Hot Shots Rail Jam
Okay gnarly indoor railjam Saturday Nov. 24th at the Moncton Coliseum...you all know that already. What you might not know is that it's invite only and registration is limited! You need to go to www.hotshotsrailjam.com, click on registration and follow the instructions for registration...it will involve an email containing some information and 2 references to vouch for your skills. Again, registration is limited, so do it now! Even if you've talked to an event organizer and have confirmed a spot, cause you're that ill, you still need to do an official email registration. If you have any questions or concerns check out the contact link on the site and I'm sure Derek can help you out. Anyways, hope this little post helps clear things up and goodluck with registration...the comp is gonna be sick! <Corms>

Oct 27 - Comp results, sick shots and Drop Frame
The Zero Gravity comp last Sunday turned out to be a good time. Unfortunately we don't have any media from it, Corms and I decided we were actually going to snowboard this time. Sam Rogers was the winner, Pat Boissonnault came 2nd and Corms 3rd. Pat also won best trick. Thanks goes out to Zero Gravity and all the sponsors, as well as the WOF crew for their hard work maintaining the setup throughout the day. In other news, my friend JP (check out the photo section for some of his work) has been plublished a lot in SBC lately, check these! [1] [2] [3] He also had a few half-page shots. Those are some quality prints buddy! You can also check out his videography skills in the teaser for Drop Frame HERE, which features a Montreal based crew of shreds. Oh and Aaron Johnson, better known as P-nut, of Freddy also has a 'check out' in the Fall SBC issue. Check it out! Later. <Ben>

Oct 15 - Hot dogs are like so hot right now
Hi there. Jibaroo comp. this Saturday (Oct. 20th) in Truro put on by Zero Gravity Skate/Snowboard Shop. Starts at 1:00pm, registration is $10.00, helmets are mandatory and there will be free food, live entertainment and a 'shitload' of prizes....should be a good time. Google map Victoria Park in Truro to find the location...however the park is 400 acres big. I'll pass along more specific location details when I get them...check the Cbox often. In other news, our friend Chew emailed us about a month ago. For those of you who didn't meet Chew, go to the pictures section and read his NN interview. Anyways, he's still in Banff, and riding for Burton, Analog, Anon, Rude Boys and a new sponsor, Mayday Bandanas. Check out their product HERE...well thought out design and sick prints fer sure! Chew also informed us that two friends of his have started a film company...so hopefully he'll send us some 'B' footy for the site! All for now, see you near the rendering plant on Saturday! MMMMM, nothing beats the smell of boiling cow and pig heads... <Corms>

Sept 24 - Grass stains and tight girl jeans (posts have titles now)
Well the first comp/jamboree of the year was almost a week and a half ago now. There is a little edit from the day in the videos section and some photos in the pictures section. Thanks to everyone who came out for a sunny Sunday afternoon shred! The sesh got a little muddy towards the end...but what are you gonna do, it's September! In total there were about 50 competitors. Congrats to Kyle for taking home the bacon, Ferrari for a solid 2nd and Pat, representing the Dieppe crew, for 3rd. Best trick went to Sam with his patented back 2-Sev, 2-Sev out and most drunk went to Alex and his cirrhotic liver...Khattar was a close 2nd. Anyways, thanks to PRO, A-1 and Iced Agencies for providing the goodies. Personal thanks to Lukas J. and Jay C. for helping organize/run the comp, thanks guys! Zero Gravity (Shop in Truro) is having a comp of their own on the 20th of Oct...we'll keep you posted. Until next time ya swashbucklers. <Corms>

Sept 13 - NN JAMBOREE MOVED TO SUNDAY, SEPT. 16TH DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING ISSUED FOR SATURDAY. STARTING TIME STILL 12PM. Also, for the local boys who just can't wait until Sunday, or those of you who want a little practice before Sunday, Khattar and a few boys might be setting up a flat down rail @ Gorsebrook on Sat. afternoon, rain or shine I've been told. So if you're in the Halifax area on Saturday and don't mind the rain, head on down and check it out...he's got some goodies for anyone hardcore enough to shred! All for now, see you Sunday! <Corms>

Sept 12 - Corms and I had the day off, so we decided to do a bit of quality control. We rode the rail before the event (for safety reasons...). Also, as Corms wrote on the Cbox, if it rains the comp could be postponed to Sunday. We'll keep you posted. <Ben>

Sept 10 - NN Jamboree this Saturday, Sept. 15th @ around 12:00PM (you know how these things are) @ Gorsebrook in Halifax. Entry fee is 5 bucks and the event is open to everyone, skiers, snowbladers, GTers, etc. (However prizes will mostly be given to uni-boarders since PRO is supplying most of them) The setup will be the new 21-foot railbox...(as pictured below in bold) with perhaps various other junky obstacles. The event will be jam format...basically ride until we say stop, top shreds get some loot. For those of you of age, there will be a keg party Sat. night...location TBA. Anyways, here's the poster ,direct any questions to the Cbox. And we still need suggestions for the rail's name! Post them on the Cbox! Peas. <Corms>

Sept 05 - Welcome to the new Nasty-nice! A few things have changed, but really, everything is pretty much the same. We added a pictures section to give the site a little more content. We also threw all the videos, either edited by us or sent to us, into the videos section. You'll also find a new clip there which consists of mainly unreleased footy from throughout last winter. Overall, the site is now just a little easier for us to maintain and update...which is good...cause now we can update the site via a reaching stick from the chesterfield. Yup I said chesterfield. Anyways, enough website shit. The new season is upon us and NN purchased a 21-foot railbox to get things started. The maiden voyage is scheduled for Sept. 15th at Gorsebrook in Halifax (details soon). That being said, the rail, currently dubbed 'The Rail', will need a name for the festivities. Please post some suggestions on the Cbox. The winner gets to guinea the rail...or just take pride in the fact that somebody actually listened to what you said for once. Either way, people will think you're cool! Anyways, this post must end, the take home points are as follows: new site, new clip, new rail, new season, new fun. All for now from nasty-niceland. <Corms>
